Returning to the calendar after a year, the twisty Interlagos circuit near São Paulo will host the Brazilian GP, the 2015 FSR season finale!
The Autódromo José Carlos Pace was the host of fantastic races for FTS in the past, with the team celebrating victories in World Series Ace and World Series Advanced.
Faster Than Speed drives its final FSR lap at Interlagos
In the World Championship, it was an incredible journey of 15 years, 243 FSR WC GPs, 486 starts, scoring a victory in Turkey 2007, 11 podiums and 3 poles. Other FSR divisions also gave the team 5 online championship titles, over 35 victories and close to a hundred podium finishes!
However, the season finale Brazilian GP was definitely not the ending we dreamt of. Norbert Leitner had to start from the back following a back-of-the-grid penalty he was notified of just minutes before Q1. Norbert's race was further compromised after a stop-and-go for speeding in the pitlane. While trying to recover, he lost several seconds behind the leader Brljak, who was slower on older tyres. While the issues did not allow him to score points, Norbert drove the team's final lap in FSR as he crossed the line in 12th after a difficult evening.
Team-mate Mike Partington, meanwhile, had to serve a drive-through penalty on the opening lap following a jump start, while he also picked up some bodywork damage. The handling issues got worse after being hit by a competitor. On lap 30, a strange accident on the pit exit ended his race.
While FTS unfortunately lost a championship position in the final race, it was a good final season, with points scored in 8 of the 14 rounds and fantastic drives such as Mike's 5th place at Spa or the 2nd-place podium finish that wasn't to be at Marina Bay. Faster Than Speed ended its 15th FSR WC season in 9th place, with 40 points.
