Round Review

An unlucky end to a great season

In the World Championship, despite showing strong pace in the early part of the race, Marcel van der Linden's race was heavily compromised after being collected by a driver ignoring blue flags as he exited the pitlane. With a damaged car, he finished in 15th place. Patrick De Wit had a tough race on his way to 18th.

In the Ace division, Norbert Leitner had a great performance in the feature race after again qualifying strongly. In the battle with Klop for the final podium spot, his chances were compromised by a very long pitstop. He eventually recovered to finish in 6th place. Guillermo Prieto also had a solid race, looking set for a top-8 finish before an incident dropped him to 12th. Giuseppe Marconi finished 17th while Thomas Mundy had to retire.
In the sprint race, Norbert race posed a strong challenge for victory, battling for the lead. Unfortunately, after being hit by the leader Hodas and then suffering a minor spin which destroyed his tyres, Norbert's race was ruined, dropping him to 15th. Guillermo Prieto finished in 11th place, setting the fastest lap of the race, while Giuseppe Marconi had to retire early. Thomas Mundy was unable to take part due to technical issues.

In the Pro division, with both Mikko Suokas and Guglielmo Matti having to start from the back of the field, it was always going to be a recovery race for FTS. Unfortunately, van Loggerenberg hit Algpeus on lap 2, and both Mikko and Guglielmo got caught up in the incident, having to pit for repairs and later retiring as their FTS-P14's were too damaged to continue.
For Mikko, it was his first DNF of the season. A fantastic year from our flying Finn, which included 2 race wins and 5 podiums on his way to 2nd on the Drivers' Championship. Faster Than Speed finished 3rd on the team standings.

It was a great season for Faster Than Speed, claiming 3 race wins and several podiums on its return to victory since 2009! Bring on 2015!
